FBI Informant Talked With Nichols

An FBI informant talked with James Nichols in 1988 about blowing up the Oklahoma City federal building, according to FBI documents obtained by a Freedom of Information request.

The Associated Press reported that an unnamed FBI informant visited James Nichols, brother of bombing suspect Terry Nichols, at his Decker, Michigan, farm in December 1988. James Nichols was upset at the U.S. government, whom he blamed for the terrorist bombing of PanAm Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.

At the meeting, Nichols diagrammed the Oklahoma City federal building and discussed how a "megabomb" could level it.

The FBI would not discuss why the informant visited Nichols.

Nichols denies the conversation ever took place.
