Chris Whitten

Economist Chris Whitten was once managing editor for Laissez Faire Books, and later operated a Web site,, which eventually merged with the International Society for Individual Liberty.

During his college years, Whitten studied Austrian economics under Israel Kirzner at New York University, founded NYU's Classical Liberal Organization, and interned at the Cato Institute as a Charles Koch Fellow. Whitten obtained his B.S. in economics in 1993.

Whitten was Laissez Faire Books' Managing Editor from 1993 to 1995, when he left Laissez Faire to start his own Internet presence consulting firm, Free Market Enterprises.
