Charles Koch

Charles Koch, one of the heirs to the Koch Industries family fortune, bankrolled some libertarian organizations. Koch became active in the libertarian movement in 1976. He contributed millions to found the Cato Institute and funded the short-lived Students for a Libertarian Society.

Charles' brother David won the 1980 Libertarian Party nomination for Vice President. David Koch's financial contributions to the campaign helped the Libertarian Party in its impressive third-party showing of nearly one million votes that year.
