Electronic Frontier Foundation

The Electronic Frontier Foundation is the premier organization fighting for online freedom of expression and privacy. EFF was founded in 1990 by Mitch Kapor and John Perry Barlow.

EFF's first actions were to award a grant to Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility for their Computing and Civil Liberties Project, and to support two legal cases, Steve Jackson's ultimately successful lawsuit against the U.S. government, and a University of Missouri student's defense against charges of online crime.
