1996 Elections in Massachusetts

The Libertarian Party of Massachusetts ran the following candidates for office in the November 1996 elections:

  • State House District 5: Kevin Hayes: 2,843 (18%)
  • State House District 6: Dean Cook: 1,121 votes (7%)
  • State House District 30: Ron Bargoot: 1,939 votes (16%)

While Cook and Bargoot were long-time libertarian activists, Hayes was unaffiliated with the party before winning a write-in campaign in its primary. In addition, Libertarian George Phillies ran for Senate as a write-in candidate.
