Libertarian Tom Tryon was first elected as the (nonpartisan) county supervisor for the Fourth District of Calaveras County, California, in 1984.
He has won re-election ever since, and as of December 2006 was the board's longest-serving member.Tryon consistently votes against tax increases and against accepting federal funds for fighting the drug war.
